Flamer Mini Guitar Signed by Queen and Paul Rodgers 2008

This beautiful little show piece is quite a unique and collectable item.It was signed by Queen and Paul Rodgers for auction by the Mercury Phoenix Trust

The full story behind this guitar is quite confusing, but I finally think I have worked out the true history. Originally I was led to believe that while on tour the band members were each presented by one of these guitars and Spike Edney used his to be signed by the band for the auction. I now believe that Spike Edney actually personally purchased this guitar while the band was on tour in Japan and had the band sign it for the auction. I believe also that Spike's wife played a big part in this idea. Something like that....

I'm not sure of the manufacturer as the headstock says "Flamer" and the label on the back says "Flames". Flamer works for me. It actually plays quite well and the built in amp and speaker has quite a bit of overdrive, not quite as harmonic as a Vox AC30, but still, this should probably spend its time in a showcase in HardRock Cafe (or other such establishment) and not in our store.

When originally transported after the auction it was not packed well and on the lower edge the finish has a 2cm crack. It doesn't distract too much and could be repaired easily, but not really worth it to be quite honest. It all adds to the being a real rock & roll collector's piece.
